Call for artists: Shiftworks University Line Public Art
Shiftworks Community + Public Arts and The Art Supply Co., in collaboration with the City of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Regional Transit have announced a call for artists for the University Line Public Art Project.
This is an opportunity to create public artwork along the 7.1 mile University Line transit corridor connecting Downtown, Uptown, and Oakland. The selected artist or artist team will work closely with the project team to design impactful, long-lasting enhancements that reflect the culture, history, and identity of the communities along the route.
The total artwork budget is $150,000, including a $30,000 artist fee and $120,000 for materials, fabrication, travel, and installation.
Applications are due by Monday, June 9, 2025 at 11:59 PM. This exciting opportunity is open to artists living in Southwestern Pennsylvania and to Pittsburgh Creative Corps members.
Shiftworks will host a virtual artist info session on Thursday, May 22 at 10:00 AM to review the application process and answer any questions.
