Industrial Arts Workshop (IAW) proposes a mixed media mural using paint, mosaic, and metal accent pieces to convey a design that will be finalized with more community input. 

The symbols and gestures included in IAW’s multi-media installation are gathered from the stories that community members shared in their visions for the space. 

IAW’s teenage welding students have been involved in developing the proposal for this project, and if awarded, will remain involved through the execution and installation of the piece. IAW would offer weekly sessions in our Hazelwood workshop for SCS and Larimer community members to participate in the fabrication of the artwork. In this way, the piece will not only reflect the ideas and values of the Steel City Squash and Larimer communities, but community members will directly have a hand in creating the artwork and its modular components.
